STONE
TREE COTTAGE
is a charming fishing lodge, although you don’t have to fish to love
being here. Once
a shepherd’s cottage, the house nestles in one of the most spectacular,
yet peaceful valleys in County Kerry, and is
your perfect base to explore everything that this glorious part of
Ireland has to offer.
The original cottage dates back over
two hundred years. You can see the layers of history in its thick walls,
deep set windows, and romantic fireplaces; and yet the sensitive
restoration includes all the modern comforts, furnishings and finishing
touches you’ll need after your days enjoying the surrounding villages
and countryside to the fullest. The south-facing conservatory
lets you enjoy the unforgettable views across the
mountains and
the renowned
Lough Currane. The terrace
is
ideal for evening drinks and perhaps a barbeque after your day fishing
for salmon and sea trout, or walking the Kerry Way.
The Kerry Way is one of Ireland’s longest signposted walking trails. It
is accessible directly from the house, making Stone Tree Cottage a
walker’s paradise. Meanwhile, long golden sandy beaches, horse riding,
golf and the famed Skellig Islands, are all on your doorstep.
As
the sun sets, you may catch a glimpse of the elusive white tailed fish
eagles, who have made the Cummeragh Valley their home. Ideal for
families with children, or for groups of friends, choose Stone Tree
Cottage for your Irish escape, whatever the season.
