The OLD SCHOOL HOUSE is
located on the fantastic southwest tip of Valentia Island. It boasts a
wonderfully beautiful view of the Atlantik, the SKELLIG ISLANDS and Bray
Head. This charming cottage was rebuilt and restored with great attention to detail, it served as a school for children in the vicinity until 1978. The house is an ideal starting point for hikes. The popular Bray Head Walk is just a few minutes walk from the cottage. The beautiful cliffs to the north of the island are also within walking distance as you walk down to St. Brendan's Well.
Valentia Island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. A small car
ferry operates between Easter and October between the island town of
Knightstown and Caherciveen on the RING OF KERRY. |

| The Old School House is
quietly located on a beautifully landscaped and large property. The heart
of the house is a generously dimensioned and open-plan living and dining
area that underlines the character of the house with its stylish
furnishings. A staircase leads to the gallery from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Atlantic with some offshore islands. There is also a very well preserved grand piano that guests who know how to play are welcome to play. From the hall you have access to the kitchen and the two bathrooms. Another staircase leads to the two bedrooms on the upper floor. One has a double bed and the other has two single beds. The bedroom on the ground floor is furnished with a double bed. With it's 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the house offers plenty of space for 4 - 5 guests. |
